Aurio is built to keep your voice on your Mac. This page explains exactly what is and isn’t collected.

Your audio

Aurio processes your microphone audio locally on your Mac. Denoising runs on-device; your audio is never uploaded, streamed, or stored by us as part of normal use. It also isn’t written to disk.

Trial & license data

To start a free trial, Aurio sends a device identifier for your Mac. We store it so that a trial can be issued once per machine, and so the app can check that a trial or license is still valid.

Aurio does not ask for an email address to start a trial, and there is no account to create. The trial is tied to your Mac, so there is nothing for us to email you about and no mailing list to be added to.

Your IP address is used to rate-limit abuse of our trial and license endpoints. It is kept only for the length of that rate-limit window — at most 24 hours — and then expires automatically.

If you buy a license, your payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy. We never see or store your card details.

Telemetry & crash reports

Aurio includes optional, consent-gated crash reporting (via Sentry). It is off until you agree during onboarding, and you can change your choice at any time in Aurio’s settings. When enabled, a crash sends:

• App and macOS version, and Mac hardware model
• Crash stack traces and the error type that caused the crash
• A random, non-identifying install identifier
• Coarse locale/timezone and device language

Crash reports are designed to never include captured audio, your microphone contents, or the text of your conversations. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.

Retention

Crash reports are kept only as long as needed to diagnose and fix issues — no more than 90 days — and then deleted. License and trial records — the device identifier — are kept while your license or trial is active. Trial records are deleted automatically no more than 90 days after the trial starts.

Opt out & deletion

Turn off crash reporting in Aurio’s settings to stop sending any telemetry. To request deletion of any data associated with you, email support@aurio.dev and we’ll remove it.
